About Us

History

Infortar was established in 1997 by private investors to buy out Tallink, which was in economic difficulties at the time, and to inject sufficient capital into the shipping company to stabilise its economic activities and ensure further growth. Initially, Infortar focused exclusively on Tallink, but starting from 2004, company started to become interested in investing in real estate. In 2016, it made a dynamic entry into the energy sector by acquiring Eesti Gaas. As at 31 December 2021, the group included 45 subsidiaries. In addition, Infortar has invested in four associates, which, in turn, have 50 subsidiaries. Aside from Tallink Grupp and Eesti Gaas, the most well-known associates and subsidiaries are Eesti Maavarade Grupp, which specialises in natural resources used in construction, the printing houses Vaba Maa and Printon, Farmatar, which specialises in the wholesale of pharmaceuticals and pharmacy goods, Gastrolink, which sells tableware and kitchen equipment, Tallink Takso, Tallink Tennis Centre with 20 tennis courts, the construction companies INF Ehitus and INF Infra, and many others.
